Research Interests

Dr. Sviridov’s interests include experimental and theoretical aspects of the rock-physics with a particular emphasis on anisotropic shales. Experimental interests embrace the observation of mechanical, hydraulic and other properties as a function of lithology, composition, and stress.  Theoretical aspects introduce numerical modeling, which describes observed mechanisms. Understanding these processes is important for the seismic exploration and monitoring, especially in the anisotropic or fractured sediments, but also for the reservoir engineering and wellbore stability management.
